The Style Icons Of The 50s


The fashion today is largely determined by previous fashion and style icons, past and present. In recent decades, many women have been known as a style icon, and the trends of today are still thanks to them! In this article the style icons of the 50s: Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor and Bettie Page.

 

Marilyn Monroe
Marilyn Monroe (born Norma Jeane Mortenson in 1926) was an American actress, and above all a special appearance and inspiration to many. She stood out because of her short blond hair, red lips and beauty spots, which have become her trademark and is still copied by many women. In terms of clothing she wore always dresses of knee length or slightly longer, often red, pink or with a polka-dot print. Her favorite perfume was Chanel No.. 5, the most famous perfume from Chanel. Her trademark was the black dress or Little Black Dress and the LBD is still a garment that should not be missing in the wardrobe of every woman. Audrey's style was anyway the classic black and white. Grace Kelly was a classy and elegant style. She has a few trademark put down, such as the Grace Kelly role: the French knot (Grace Kelly had her hair preferably raised), the 'Grace Kelly', namely the scarf around the head and the sunglasses and the "Kelly Bag" Hermes. Her style was sexy, chic and inspired many designers, and her trademark was her jet black hair and straight bangs short (the "Page-haircut"), still a familiar and somewhat daring hairstyle. She wore typical 50s pin-up dresses, still loved and very valuable as the original vintage copies. Her makeup was sexy but classy, the tight black eyeliner and red lipstick. Bettie Page's style inspired many contemporary stars such as Dita Von Teese - who literally copied style Betties - Kat Von D and Katy Perry. Bettie Page has a very pronounced impact on our culture had, and made it a little sexier.
